GEORGE Clooney and Sandra Bullock: internet cupids are watching you and they want you to be in love. For real.
As pictures of their promotional tour for latest movie Gravity whip around the world, our collective imaginations are running wild. How could we have not seen it before? These two are meant for each other. Yes, it's unlikely. Yes, it shouldn't work. But then again, that's exactly why it should.
Here's why.
1. She doesn't need him
She's Sandra Bullock. She's already got her own career in the bag and doesn't need an introduction of any kind in Hollywood. She's also a single mother, proof among many things that if she wants something she'll go out and get it. What's more irresistible to a commitment-phobe than that?
2. She's completely unexpected
George likes hot women. That much we know. Take a look at his last three girlfriends for proof of that - the hotter the better. Sandra slots comfortably into this arena without the vacant stare or hapless sort of 'I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing here' look we're accustomed to seeing on George's lady friends. She's left-field, successful and hilarious - you can just tell.
3. He won't have to change the diapers
He might like coffee but that's about as domestic as you'd imagine George Clooney will get. You can't imagine him mopping baby vomit off the floor or leaping out of bed at 2am to do a morning feed. You just can't. Nothing about Clooney says: I like to change nappies. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't make a great dad. And guess what? Sandra already has the baby. Her adorable adopted son, Louis who looks about two, has the worst of the mess behind him. Now all George has to do is turn up for the fun dad stuff.
4. She makes him look normal
Look at them standing side by side. The first thing you notice is how at ease George looks. He's ready with a smile and clearly happy to joke around. And while he's never a grump on the red carpet, the George with Sandra by his side actually looks like a real person. There's less of the arm candy, stiff upper lip kind of handbag persona and more like he's having a great time. Oh, and he calls her 'Sandy'.
5. She's gorgeous
Almond eyes, legs to die for and a killer smile, Sandra also holds her own in the fashion stakes. She's always turning up to Hollywood events wearing something unique and an awesome pair of heels. Take their recent promotional tour for Gravity, as an example. She wore a bright pink dress by Aussie designer, Alex Perry. Yep, Sandra holds her own. Plus, her outfits complement her considerable acting talent and not everyone is capable of that.
6. Because - just - how awesome would it be?
Think Hollywood and romance and the first things that spring to mind are divorce, cheating scandals and broken hearts with substance addictions. The George and Sandra love story would completely transform the place. They'd break the mould. Kind of like Michelle Williams and Jason Segel - but not. George and Sandra - they'd be a success story. They'd live happily ever after and we'd all feel really, really good about it. The End.
