This week's best-dressed stars[1] stunned in florals. Michelle Obama[2] looked ravishing in a black and red printed Tracy Reese dress[3] , while Alexa Chung[4] proved why she is the queen of style in a peplum dress with interesting details.
But the real star of the show was Sandra Bullock[5] . We're so used to seeing the actress play it safe when it comes to fashion, but this week all of her risks paid off. She made herself the center of attention in a body-conscious neon dress and also wowed in a red gown that did everything to highlight her amazing figure. This leading lady is definitely one to watch out for on future red carpets.
Check out our picks for best-dressed and let us know if you agree!
Sandra Bullock in Alex Perry
Sandy B. has never looked better! Though she is rarely thought of as a fashionista, Bullock turned it on this week in a neon, color-blocked dress. The bright hues look amazing against her summer tan, while her tousled waves keep it casual.
Sandra Bullock in J. Mendel
She's two for two this week! The best part of this ensemble is how the actress accessorized. The rich red dress pairs nicely with her black clutch and black pumps, and though this can be a tricky color combination to pull off, her gown is feminine enough to standup to the dark accessories!
Christie Brinkley
Brinkley is a total babe in this LBD. Though it's so simple, it fits her body like a glove and highlights all her best assets. (We cannot believe this former supermodel is 59!)
Alexa Chung in Kenzo
Nobody does off-duty style quite like Alexa Chung. The model knows how to look effortless in just about anything she wears, and this floral dress is no exception. The cute peplum flatters her figure, while her rosy flats prove that shoes don't need to have a heel to be on trend.
Emily VanCamp
If you're going to go for a solid color dress, something needs to make it extra special. And here, the "Revenge" star did just that. The criss-cross hemline, coupled with the low-cut neckline, adds the perfect amount of visual interest, while her strappy sandals are an unexpected touch.
Lindsay Price
The proportions on this outfit are so right. Price's top may be slightly boxy, but because she is showing a sliver of her tummy, it alludes to her slim figure. Her skirt is also tricky to balance out because of all the volume, but the short hemline ensures that it doesn't add extra bulk.
Olivia Munn in Michael Kors
We love this refreshing dress on Munn! The corset style top draws attention towards her toned arms, while the sweet lace detail on the skirt is the perfect contrast to the sexy bodice.
Ali Larter in Marchesa
Summer is almost over, so now is the time to sneak in a short floral dress. This particular one is great because of the sweetheart neckline, peplum detail and the interesting color palette. Kudos, Larter.
Jamie Chung in Ann Taylor
There is nothing better than a simple outfit that fits seamlessly (especially when it's from Ann Taylor!). Chung's white tank is a great base for her flouncy skirt, and her sleek bun just adds to the polished outfit.
Georgia May Jagger in By Johnny
Mick Jagger's spawn certainly got all the right genes. Not only is the model beautiful, but she is also incredibly stylish. We love the unusual shape of her dress -- it falls just above the ankles and has a little flounce at the bottom. We also adore the color combination (blue and pink are great together), and don't even get us started on those sexy waves.
Michelle Obama in Tracy Reese
The first lady joined her husband for the "Let Freedom Ring" ceremony in a gorgeous floral dress (that reminded us quite a bit of the patterns from the Finnish company Marimekko). FLOTUS looked polished and fashion-forward (we'd expect nothing less) in a dress that showcased those famous guns!
