DEWITT, N.Y. - Fleet Feet Sports, which already announced a second location and an expanded product line this summer, has another new feature in store for its fans.
The shop, named the best running store in America last year by Competitor and Running Insight magazines, is adding free shipping on replacement shoes.
Running shoes typically wear out in four to six months if worn daily, said Liz Knickerbocker, marketing manager at Fleet Feet. The store's customers can now have replacement shoes shipped for free in two days by filling out an online form.
Some customers come to Fleet Feet's DeWitt store from as far away as two hours, Knickerbocker said. Delivery will give them an easy way to stay updated with the latest shoes.
More details are available on Fleet Feet's website[1] .
The store plans to open[2] its second location near Great Northern Mall in Clay later this year and added some casual footwear options to its lineup earlier this summer.
- The much-anticipated (and[3] written[4] about[5] ) arrival of lululemon in downtown Syracuse is nearly here. The chain's local showroom will celebrate its grand opening Aug. 22, according to its Facebook page.
The party will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with a yoga class in Clinton Square. Snacks and music will follow at the store, located at 327 W. Fayette St.
That's across from downtown's new Marriott hotel complex. Lululemon[6] sells yoga-inspired athletic apparel.
- The franchisee for the Syracuse area's Bruegger's Bagels locations is looking to add a new store in the Fairmount area.
Rochester-based Flour City Bagels, which owns 33 Bruegger's[7] in Syracuse, Albany and Rochester, is looking for a location now, CEO Ken Greene said.
The company is also exploring some new concepts at its home base in Rochester that could eventually find their way east, Greene added. A new restaurant from Flour City called Brioche Doree will open at Greater Rochester International Airport by Labor Day.
Brioche Doree is a French bakery and cafe chain.
Greene said he's also in talks with a specialty coffee house on a combination location with Bruegger's in the Rochester market. That setup could eventually spread to local Bruegger's locations like the ones on Erie Boulevard and Nottingham Road, Greene said.
