At this rate, Danica Patrick could fill a separate shoe rack for all of the shoes that Bruton Smith gives her.
Smith is the chairman of Speedway Motorsports Inc., which owns many Sprint Cup Series tracks including Bristol Motor Speedway, the site of Saturday night's Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Patrick said this week that he gave her a second pair of shoes in July when the series was at New Hampshire, another SMI track.
Those shoes were Jimmy Choos, which, uh, are quite expensive. (I'm sure many of you didn't need me to tell you that.)
“They are very fancy, very dressy,” Patrick said. “I haven’t found the right occasion for them. I thought I was going to wear them during the ESPYs, but it didn’t match my dress right.”
The first pair that Bruton gave her in 2010 were Y. Jaiselle shoes. Note to other NASCAR track owners out there: if you want to be Patrick's favorite owner, you've got a high and expensive bar to clear. Though let's be real, it's not like this is a significant expense for Smith. The track magnate's worth more than $1 billion.
Her boyfriend, fellow Sprint Cup driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr., gave Patrick a pair of cowboy boots this season, but Patrick joked that with the second purchase Bruton's now eclipsed him in footwear purchases for her. Ricky, you too may want to get to shopping.
