Attention Upper East Siders, and anyone else who loves 'Gossip Girl[1] ' for that matter; it's Blake Lively[2] 's 26th birthday today. From having a Christian Louboutin shoe named after her to marrying the gorgeous Ryan Reynolds[3] , this actress gets plenty of press attention, but I've dug up some less well-known snippets of information that would tickle any 'Gossip Girl' fan's fancy.
1. Blake doesn't drink
Unlike her on-screen alter ego Serena van der Woodsen, Blake isn't a fan of being under the influence on a night out. The actress revealed she doesn't like the taste of alcohol, or the effect it has, whilst making a tasty tart on Vogue's cooking web series 'Elettra's Goodness[4] '.
Blake does, however, cook with loads of the strong stuff, and is a very keen chef indeed. Nigella Lawson and Martha Stewart are amongst her inspirations. Lucky Ryan.
2. Blake created a charity cupcake
The actress put her baking skills to good use last year when she raised $35,000 for Oxfam by devising a S'more cupcake for Sprinkles bakery.
For the uninitiated, a S'more is an American campfire favourite, consisting of marshmallows and chocolate melted between two graham crackers. Deee-licious.
3. Blake has a back-up career plan
As well as cooking, Blake loves interior design, telling American Marie Claire she plans to open her own interior decorating company one day.
She also dished to Elle Decor about the kitchen she designed in her and Ryan's home in Bedford (in New York, not Befordshire, more's the pity), which includes a custom La Cornue oven. Fancy pants.
4. Just call her Blake the Bulldog
It's sounding like Blake's pretty perfect, right? Well that goes all the way back to her school days, when she was class president, a cheerleader, in a competitive choir and half a dozen other clubs.
She took school spirit pretty seriously, as she admitted to American Cosmopolitan[5] that she even dressed up in a bulldog costume as the football team's mascot. Bit of a change from haute couture.
5. Blake went to jail
It's not all goody-two-shoes baking and home-making for Blake, as the blonde has served a stint in jail. Don't get too shocked though, as the prison in question was actually in Disneyland.
Blake confessed to David Letterman that when she 5 or 6, her 12-year-old brother put hairspray on the back of their hands to transfer the entrance stamp from other visitors, but they got found out. Tut tut.
