As many of you know, Dancing With the Stars [1] becomes my life every September and March, when I'm backstage weekly with all the contestants and doing crazy things like rolling on the floor with Sean Lowe[2] or staging ridiculous photo shoots[3] .
We have a whole new crop of contestants to look forward to—and if the rumors are true, it's going to be an amazing cast. Speaking of the cast: They will all be officially announced this Wednesday, Sept. 4 on Good Morning America. Until then, let's take a look at the rumored cast list and come up with a few of our own.
The Rumored DWTS List:
Amber Riley (Glee [4] ): This might be one of DWTS' biggest coups. Sure, Riley saw her role diminished, and she's not back as a series regular for season five, but she's still a powerful presence. When I heard a Glee star was going to be on this season, I anticipated a secondary character—or one that we see maybe a couple times a season. But Riley? Bring it on. (Oh, and with over a million twitter followers—and very loyal followers at that—I see Riley spending a lot of time on that ballroom floor).
By the way, check out this tweet that Riley posted a little over a week ago. Telling, ya think?
Big announcement in a couple weeks ðð can’t wait to share but I have to! Stay tuned…

Valerie Harper (Rhoda, The Mary Tyler Moore Show): You guys all know how much love I have for Valerie[6] . With word that her cancer is near remission, why not sign on for this incredible journey? If you've got your health, you've got everything, and Valerie is a living and breathing example of living your life to the fullest. So if she signs on to DWTS, she will be the contestant I'm most excited about.
Leah Remini (King of Queens): Fresh off the heels of her outspoken Scientology departure, she might prove to be the most-talked-about contestant this season, and you know that will make for great soundbites backstage.
Elizabeth Berkley (Saved by the Bell [7] ): Spano! We know the girl can dance and rock a leotard like none other, so I'll be counting the days until the brilliant DWTS set designers recreate The Max and get Slater Mario Lopez to make a cameo.
Snooki (Jersey Shore): Out of the five rumored contestants, she's the one that excites me the least. Never been a fan of the late MTV show, and, no offense to the bronzed cast, but I'm over 'em.
UPDATE: OK guys, hold on to your dancing shoes, because the newest name to hit the rumor circuit might top every other contestant out there. You ready? Oh, try David Beckham[8] on for size.
Thursday night at Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, Cheryl Burke[9] confided at POM Wonderful's Juice Blends launch that she is all set to go with David Beckham as her partner on the new season. I for one am shocked she'd be so open, but then again, why would she be inclined to give us a scoop this juicy to not have it be true? So girls, start getting your questions together, because it looks like I'll be spending QT with Becks every week backstage!
My Dream DWTS Cast (That Could Actually Come True)
Ellie Kemper (The TV Star): Now that The Office [10] is over, and (sadly) Ellie's pilot didn't get picked up for the 2013-14 season, what better way to keep her in the public eye—and remind us of why we fell in love with her in the first place—than to see her flash her charm and crazy dance moves as she chases after the Mirrorball trophy?
Adam Scott (The Athlete): The dashing Aussie[11] took home the green jacket at this year's Masters and also gave Tom Brady a run for his money in the looks department. Plus, he's not yet married, which means maybe I have a chance once we get to hang out every week...
Matthew Perry (The Comedian/TV Actor): He certainly doesn't need the money, but after Go On got canceled (and he had a not-so-successful showing on Hollywood Game Night), the Friends [12] funnyman needs a creative outlet to channel his endless amount of energy.
Adele (The Singer): OK, I know it's a long shot. A really long shot. But since the Oscars, we really haven't heard or seen much of Adele. About time she makes a big move, don't you think?
Max or Charlie Carver (The Teen Star): You know there has to be a Disney-esque teen star on the ABC show every season, so I nominate the handsome young lads that played Lynette and Tom's trouble-prone twins on Desperate Housewives.
President Clinton (The Politician): Because it would be awesome. Just awesome. Plus, if Hillary wins a possible run for President in 2016, he's going to have to sharpen his dancing skills. Hill needs a partner too. This clip proves why:
Kristian Alfonso (The Soap Star): The Days of our Lives [13] vet has been a fan favorite since she debuted in the early '80s as Hope Williams. Considering that she's been Bo Brady-less for over a year now, let's see the lithe Alfonso take to the dance floor. And of course, perform to "Just Once."
Eric Dane (The Resident Hunk): Not to take anything away from Adam Scott, but seeing Dane on a dance floor? Yes, please.
And Just Because...
Prince Harry: I originally planned on listing the Duchess of Cambridge here, but let's be honest: Prince Harry could carry the entire show and more with his sense of humor and dashing good looks. And what could be better than family week with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George in the audience? Come on Harry, do it!
"Boooo-gie," ay?
Dancing with the Stars returns on Monday, September 16 on ABC.
Who do you want to see on DWTS this season, and who from the rumored cast list are you most excited about?
